Fork Lift Truck Driver Medicals

Fork lift truck driver medicals

Fork Lift Trucks are widely used in many industries. They also contribute to accidents in the workplace, which may cause costly damage, personal injury or even death. This has an impact on colleagues causing disruption to production and services.

It is good practice for forklift drivers to have medical health assessment on a regular basis to ensure that they are fit for the work they do.

Spirit Occupational Health Service can carry out individual assessments on site using the facilities in one of our mobile screening units.

Spirit Occupational Health Service will assess each individual employee and apply the standards laid down by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

HSE recommends employee assessment at the beginning of employment, once at the age of 40 and every 5 years thereafter. To cater for the increasing population of mature employees, the HSE recommend assessment of employees over the age of 65 to be assessed on an annual basis. In addition, after any significant injury or illness that is likely to affect their fitness to operate.

Assessment Includes:

  • Audiometry
  • Vision screening (distance, near, intermediate and night)
  • Height
  • Weight
  • Blood Pressure
  • Urinalysis
  • General Health Questionnaire to assess upper and lower body mobility
